I have recently laid some flags next to our house wall. These slope away from the house and are at least 150mm below the DPC. These are marshalls heritage so need pointing between them.
I have purchased some rompox easy (the brush in stuff), to same time and the hassle of traditional mortar pointing. The flags are laid on a solid 6:1 sharp sand:cement bed between 50 - 70mm deep, underneath that is part concrete foundations for an adjoining garden wall and the rest is just made up with an aggregate base, then below that hard soil that has been weathered over 1 - 2 years.
Traffic will be people, very infrequent.
I know this stuff is marketed as 'highly permeable' - is there any problem in using it where the flags meet the house wall? I'm thinking of heavy rainfall conditions etc..
Thanks.
