Any of you experts be able to advise on the following please?

JOB ONE
About 4 years ago we laid a patio of slate and in most of the areas now the s:c pointing has failed and is loose / friable. There are other areas where it's rock solid.
The base was well compacted hardcore and then a nominal 75mm full mortar bed.
I applied lithofin colour intensifier and MS Stain Stop to this.

What I'm intending to do now is rake out all the pointing that's left, tape up slabs, repoint in 4:1 mix and re-do the Lithofin works.

Any views on any potential problems?

JOB TWO
Last year I put down sandstone slabs to the front of the house but due to the weather never got round to applying any sealer.
I am now intending to give these a good scrub and then apply a coat of the colour intensifier and 2 coats MS Stain Stop.

Do you think this will be okay and is using both the Lithofin products the way forward?

I've had a couple of tins of Lithofin stored in my shed outside for a good few years now but I am guessing it would be bettr to buy some new stuff rater than attempt to use this.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

JOB 1

Sounds like you have got it cracked. Just make sure that the stone is properly cleaned before you apply any seal. Your taping up, so assuming you are going for a wet mix?

JOB 2

Your right to discard the old lithofin. There is also a product called lithofin outdoor cleaner which you can use to remove any algae or vegetation stains prior to sealing. Lithofin supply a product called stain stop plus which both seals and intensifies so no need to use the two seperate products as you have mentioned

Cheers
