Hi all most of stone laid now ,im thinking of pointing with brush in ever build geo fix, mainly as its the product my merchant stocks, is it ok for a patio ? also you guys seem to recommend lithofin stain stop plus to seal. should i seal before brushing in grout and then again after.and can i use a mister/ sprayer to apply,

Kev, this site is not a big fan of Geo fix. I have had bitter experience with the product myself. We used it once to point a load of sandstone setts and it just failed and did not go off. We then had to go back to the job and scrape it all out and point it the old fashioned way.
I have never used a mister to apply sealant but it may be possible. We used to use a paint brush or a roller. If you do opt to use a roller then do it slowly because if you go to quick the sealant turns into a foam.
What is the stone you have used?

And don't splash it everywhere. I had somebody ask me sort out their patio / wall. I went to the job, the customer soaked the house and patio, he had splashed sealant from B & Q all over the place and didn't think anything of it because it was transparent... until it rained :laugh:

well giles i geuss i wont be using geo fix! It looks like romex easy ? its just we dont have a supplier in teeside,i rang romex ray as tony advised but the nearest is 40 miles away, but i dont need telling twice. once again thanks for the help, oh yeah its indian raj green, and we have a very heavy leaf fall in autumn wich i thought could stain

have to say never had a problem with geofix. have 2 patios with sandstone. each over 100 sq m. Builder used geofix on both. One has been down for 2 years and geofix as good as the day it came out the tub!

i find that hard to believe
not calling you a fibber
but i have had to repoint 6 patios after using it
my cousin (who is a builder ) got sucked in by the speil,even after i told him
result 12 months later the lot has fell to bits

mgmo56 - was yours installed by geofix themselves? I guess that's the only chance of it ever going well.....
