Could anyone tell me an approximate figure for labour and materials to lay approximately 100 square metres, 20mm depth wearing course only, of RED tarmac on to an already laid and compacted base layer In the. We are in the North West, access couldn't be better, it's a path subject to heavy but pedestrian only traffic.

How old is the basecourse?
Take into account for the application of a tack coat to ensure a good bond between the layers.
Budget for around £19-£21 per sq metre for 6mm redpave

Thanks for the reply, Dave L. The base course is three months old. Is 6mm not too thin? We need the red aggregate stuff apparently because the colour lasts longer. And we will need a tack coat because the base layer has some resin over the top from an unsuccessful resin bonded attempt from which most of the gravel has come loose. I know this compicates matters!

The 6mm Dave is on about is the size of the aggregate in the wearing course, not the thickness.
