Hello All
I’m planning to repave an existing driveway. The drive is nothing fancy...simply a rectangle which will allow a car one car to drive on and then reverse off.
I have made my own riven slabs from moulds (120 in total) I was planning to use these to do the job but since coming across this site and reading some of the info I’m a little concerned as to whether these slabs will stand up to the job?
I was planning to reinforce the area that the cars wheels will come into contact with by laying two concrete strips running the length of the driveway. The areas that the car will not come into contact with will be dug out then filled with hardcore and then dolomite which will be then be compacted.
The slabs would then be laid onto a 3 concrete screed.
Does this sound feasible?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John
PS. As you’ve probably guessed I’m a DIY‘er
