At the time of doing my patio I found this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYAHuR4St7o&feature=related
I didn't go for the wet method as the video at the time was in German.
Since then they've over dubbed it in English.

i used the drain theother week, its a bit better than the patio, comes as two part resin that you mix with water and can have it wet fills the joints very well with no striking.
had to lift some of the flags we laid to install some addition exterior av cables, annoying as means having to go to wigan to get some more rompox but what can you do, heres some of the rompox drain we removed showing its joint filling.

that could be interpreted by a pedant, that the slabs havent been laid on 100% full bed giles
however as someone who always rakes the bedding away from the leading edges it looks good from here :;): :;):
i find if you lay to a complete full bed then the bedding pushes up and is a pain when it comes to jointing

didn't like passing comment but I had seen it too ???
did the rompox break off the side of the flags easily Giles as it looks a very straight edge on the pieces of jointing and looks like they had not stuck to the edge of the flags ?

Yeah exactly what we do just v grove it with tip of trowel to allow for expansion of the bedding layer or you end up clearing out every joint. But using Rome drain I bet it would be as strong if not stronger than the bedding layer, picked the bigger ones to show it's flowing abilities to fill an voids without striking it.

Would Instamac or Easipoint gun mortar bond to the slabs more effectively than the rompox drain?

some stuck some didnt but only 22mm thick flags as for the full bed, id say that the rompox would be as strong as a 6:1 laying mix and on 22mm flags gives the joint a root, yeah use a bit more romex but joints be stronger than just 22mmx10mm

i would say yes
i notice that with romex patio the ants have managed to make inroads to it on my path
overall its still good after 4 years but the little blighters have got some out
that drain does look good gear mind,i think ken and the gaffer used it on his celtic knot
but as a brickie good mortar beats polymerics every time (apart from in the hissing rain of course)
