Has anybody ever used LTP sealant.
I have it on good grounds that it is at least as good as lithofin if not better. Its also a hell of a lot cheaper.
If anybody has used it would be interested to hear feedback

I think it was originally developed for terracotta and they've been pushing it for use on stone flags.
I daubed some pieces of Indian sandstone, Doolin stone and Yorkstone with some about 4 years ago and, to be honest, I wouldn't put it in the same category as Lithofin MN. I noted that it was a bit too glossy for my taste and that it was virtually weathered away from the Indian stone after the first winter. It lasted a couple of years on the Doolin and York, but the sample got thrown out last autumn when I had a clear out, so I can't say how it would have fared after the bad winter we had last time.

Well thats pretty much what I thought as well Tony. We had their rep down at our place about two years ago and I was not particuarly impressed by the product or presentation etc.
However I spoke to a stone cleaning specialist last week who does a bit of work for us from time to time and he says that they have got their act together on all fronts.
I am quite attracted to it because its a British company and we can buy directly from them. Whereas with lithofin, even if you buy pallet loads you still have to go through the Uk based Casdron. We are certainly not in the position to buy pallet loads from Casdron and i suspect many suppliers of lithofin in the UK are in the same boat. The result is that by the time we have sold it to our clients 4 companies have taken a margin.
Will definately make some more enquiries and will update with results

You should have seen it 12 months ago. It was almost parity. Luckily we dont bring in too much from Europe.

Everything is Blair's fault - and there was me rejoisin when Tone made no 10 - final nail incoffin was RC conversion - I resigned from the lab party (paid-up member for 25 odd years) when we attacked Iraq.

they all claim to be god fearing,but their actions are the actions of atheists
as you say suggers invading iraq? if that was just to get rid of an evil regime there are plenty more the western world dont agree with

mixed results for the Advanced Ultra on my CBP driveway. I know we had a bugger of a winter, but it doesn't seem to have survived particularly well. I'd photo it to show you but it's persisting down at the mo' so you can't really tell anything.
The surface has remained sort-of sealed, in that water forms globules on the surface, but the jointing has loosened and has been colonised by weeds in many places. The weed-protection was the main requirement of the sealant, so I'm not really happy.
Funnily enough, I was talking about it with Ken from KGC just last week and it's almost a year since I originally applied it. I though I would leave it exactly one year and then get it photied and maybe do a written progress report, time permitting.
Meanwhile, the slate and sandstone samples I daubed with the very same stuff seem to have stood up much better. It may not be a fair comparison because the slate and stone are individual flags/setts with no jointing (obviously!) and are not in use, whereas the CBPs are being trafficked every day by my 2½ tonne 4x4.

I'd be interested in the report.
Perhaps this product is more suited to patios then drives and a stop gap between the really cheap Thompson Like and Lithofin.
I suppose if you are a contractor and want no come backs then you might insist the the customer spends top dollar on Lithofin. But if you're doing it yourself and don't mind topping it up more often then the Advanced Ultra is a fraction of the price(Lithofin Stain Stop is 9 times more expensive)
