Hi all. I'm about to build a short (2m) flag-on-edge wall. I understand how it works apart from one aspect. Should I initially lay a flat footing, then when that is set arrange the flags, haunching and back-filling, or should the slabs be set into wet concrete? The problem I see with the latter is the slabs sinking to different levels, with the former, losing strength at the 'join' of the two lots of concrete. Any advice appreciated.
the slabs need to be laid slightly off vertical in a dry lean type concrete about 300mm thick
once this has been done they can be haunched but must be left for 24 hrs before being backfilled
