Iam in the process of taking up my garden slabs due to weeds and how uneven the slabs have become. Its 5m x 5m area and i would like to know is there anything i can put down on the surface to kill off the old roots?

Id imagin its just the roots of the weeds. My terraced garden is fully surrounded by block walls. I basicall want to kill all roots before i putt down new sand and level off with wacker plate machine. have used weed killer i bought in garden center but weeds just keeps coming back.. Any flowers we have are in hanging baskets.

path clear is a good one you could also put down a weed memrane weeds dont normaly come throught a solid base laying slabs on soil and sand is not done you need a proper base :;):
