Due to some bad planning and the wife changing here mind, I now have to put sandstone flags in as retainers, admittedly the above ground part will only be 4". My question is should I use the thicker flags +35mm to be more comparable with the normal 50mm wet pressed concrete edgers or will the thinner 20mm ish be alright.

thanks.

I would of thought it depends on what your retaining, ie, patio, driveway, earth etc: I would'nt go for 20 ml personally.

it is retaining the lawn. i was just unsure as to whether the concrete type were 50mm to give them strength because they are a manufactured product rather than natural.

by virtue of the fact I am asking the question, the idea of using 20mm items didn't that comfortably with me.

I would not retain anyhting with 20mm material. They will not be strong enough!
