Hi there.
I am in the middle of laying a large patio, the initial rows of slabs have been down 2-3 days. I have decided to add an extra row. My question is, if I dig out and add the hardcore for the new row, then compact this down, will the use of a compactor right up against the newly laid slabs (not actually touching) cause any problems. For example the vibration of the compactor disturbing the hardcore under the newly laid slabs.
The slabs are laid on 50mm sharp sand/cement, then 100mm hardcore which was compacted down.
Please advise..
Thanks

Thanks for the confirmation.
Will be careful with the compactor, will keep approx 70-80mm away from the newly laid slabs to be sure no slip ups.
Then tamp down by hand the hardcore against the slabs before laying the additonal row.
