Hello

I’m laying a new patio and have broken up and removed the existing concrete surface. The delivery of the new paving may take up to two weeks to arrive. Do I need to cover the exposed ground which is next the house with plastic sheets to keep it dry or will it be ok to leave until the paving arrives? I'm concerned about water soaking into the foundations.

Thanks

whats your concern about the footing i take it they are standard stepped brick or concrete and depending on how old your house is have been in the ground for ages.

the only need to cover it would be to stop the ground getting puddled and then trafficed and getting soft and slimey which would have to be removed before your subbase went down.
