Hi
I'm a complete beginner to paving of any kind so please bear with me!
I've got a patio area made up of 17 1/2" x 17 1/2" concrete slabs (with 1/2" - 1" joints). It's in need of some repair. In some areas the pointing has long since eroded and been replaced by weeds. In other areas the pointing is still just about present. Some of the slabs are cracked and in many places they come up or wobble when you walk on them.
I can't afford a new patio and really just want to make a quick and easy fix so that it's safe to walk on and looks better than it does now (which isn't difficult!). I'd want to keep most of the slabs in place and just re-point and re-fix slabs where necessary. But I don't know how best to go about it!
I'd really appreciate any advice on this. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jon

As your flags are alredy broken, why not take them up and lay a crazy paving? I'm not a great lover of crazy paving but it will save you forking out on to much material. It can be expensive to lay but as you already have the flags, maybe not as expensive as normal. failing that you will have to take it all up make good the bedding and maybe reduce the size using the good flags.

This is what i done for my elderly neighbour a few doors down from me which had the same problem a couple of years ago.
I took up the slabs which were broken and i also removed some ok slabs in order to leave a random layout on the patio. Then like what Sean said i replaced the missing areas with crazy paving using the slabs that i had removed and then repointed everything.
Bless her she was happy as larry and forced me to take a tenner which i put towards a new sun lounger i bought her which was nearly as old as she was....
