Hi guys, firstly im a complete novice to laying bricks or slabs of any kind but im looking to have a go myself as i'll never learn otherwise!
Basically im completely re-doing my garden, aim is to have a circular lawn which will be bordered with a different colour brick, and then to lay a path extension the the existing patio leading upto the shed base (i managed to do the shed base myself, was chuffed lol)
I have been told by someone to dig down, 4-5 inches below the existing patio, then to fill this with type 1 gravel and sand and lay the new slabs ontop of this, making sure its level with pegs etc. Does this sound rite?
Also how would i go about laying the bricks round the outers?
To lay the new slabs against the lawn id have to cut them to meet the curved edge, how would this be done? what tool is needed?
I was thinking to save hassle i would lay the path square anyway and just lay some shillings etc to the curved etc
Just looking for abit of direction and encouragement so i know where im heading! I have started the digging already but not finished yet but have attached pics so you get an idea of how i mean. The lawn needs to be made more circular i know! lol
Any help is GREATLY appreciated
too add i havent read the main sections in detail yet on the site yet as 5 mins left of lunch but have printed them off ready to read through tonight
Thanks
Dan
