Hi. Apologies if this has been asked/answered before - I did do a search first but couldn't find a thread on it.
I have an indian sandstone patio which is taking on a greener & greener hue. Reading pavingexpert it seems that bleach is the recommended treatment for it. But before I start any irreversible actions on the stone can anyone confirm that I've understood the advice correctly - that giving the stones a drink of household bleach won't discolour them, make them turn orange to get me back, or give them white 'blooms', make them brittle etc? Thanks guys for any advice.

the technique involves misting the patio with a bleach water solution ,leaving for approximately 30 minutes then blasting off with the jet washer
if in doubt do a small trial area first or get the professionals in
always use PPE when using chemicals

If you look on the stains removal page there is a bleach mix info which will solve your problem. Follow the instructions to the letter and you shouldn't have any problems. If you have a look at our web-site )paving page) you will see some examples of Indian sandstone that has been cleaned with our chemical soloution.
