Hello everybody thanks in advance for you replies.
To cut a long story short my expensive Indian sandstone patio of 18 months has turned into a bit of a nightmare. It still has many cement stains (despite much wire brushing), the pointing just comes up with a brush in many places and it generally look pretty crap all round.. It got so bad that I just did not want to use it in the summer. I fell out with the guy doing it after excuse after excuse so I am now left alone to sort it out.
I have started to dig out all the old pointing, and intend to replace in with a resin based sweep in product, which leads me to my first question.
1) I contacted a supplier who used to stock "Romex" to be told that they now sell and recommend "Resiply" as a better alternative. Can anybody vouch or agree with this advice or is it just sales talk? The company offering the advice was Stone world.
2) I have replaced some of the badly stained slabs but there are too many to replace them all. The stains that are left are like water marks that have come from when he done the joints and then it rained (so he said) whilst I was on holiday. My question being Is 18 months too late to use acid on them to try to clean them up?
Last question honest
3) I am also thinking about sealing it to stop the patio from getting so grubby. I also like the idea of the stones looking a bit darker but would like to avoid them looking wet, are there any products that anybody would recommend that fits with what I need?
I know there is a lot in my post, feel free to comment on any or all of it.
Thanks again
Chris
