hi! finally getting round to doing my patio but need some advice with regard to the bedding layer. got advice from the site and will put down a 10:1 sharp sand and cement mix, but my question is - as i'll be laying the slabs on my own and won't be able to do them all in one day, will i still be able to rough up the top bit of the bedding layer on the following days or will it have gone off? also, what happens if it rains and the slabs are not all down? any advice welcome, thanks :)

hi, all the slabs are the same thickness and it's just for a patio, as in foot traffic, no cars. slabs are 450mm x 450mm, thanks

You have to mix and lay pretty much straight away. If you're not invidually bedding the slabs and you can't get them down in one go, you can screed as you go, using string lines and level(s). Don't even think of trying to re-use a mix on the following day.
