Hi

I am laying some Stonemarket zephyr (marble) on an existing concrete base that is 6 x 6 metres. Would a 4:1 wet mortar mix be ok and do I need to add anything else to the mix?

The garden centre mentioned something about sealing underneath the slabs but others have said it is not needed.

If I lay a 2inch thick mortar layer on top of the concrete does anyone know how much sand ( and what sort of sand) and cement I need to order?

sorry for being a novice.

Thanks
Nick

No need to apologize!

I usualy use a 5 to 1 mix - but i am not familiar with 'stonemarket zephyr' but that should be fine with a bit of plasticiser for workability added to it.

2 inch? I usualy lay roughly an inch of full bed mortar under the flags.

Follow the advice given on the main website, which includes a calculator for working out quantities of bedding.
