Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

We have just had our driveway laid by a professional company (chosen by the developers of our house) for the second time. The first driveway started to lift and mark so they came and laid it again. However after they had laid the tarmac (which looked quite good) they spread a layer of 'grit' on the top which they said must not be removed for a week. I had this trodden through my house all this time!! Anyway after a week we swept up the grit or gravel and the same thing is happening. The drive is lifting and marking and looks a mess!! Why can't we have a smooth, nice drive like the road outside? Surely this is not too difficult to manage? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks BB

Do you have a specification as to what material was laid and at what thicknesses?
