Hi - First of all, great informative site - have spent many hours gleaning tremendous amount of information for my upcoming project. Now for the big decision - which type of flag! I need to balance the need for a smooth(ish) surface with no rough edges (to proptect my little kids feet), with the desire for a country flag / courtyard look. Old Town & Millstone were my front runners, but they are very bumpy at times. Does anyone have a view on Old Yorkshire/Lancashire from Westminster? I would have to take a day off to visit them - so any positive/negative opinions compared to the other two mentioned would be appreciated.

Westminster's Yorkshire St Flag and Lancashire are a quality flag. You will struggle to find a better quality manufactured paving slab in my opinoin. We laid a display at our centre about 6 years ago and it still looks good. Take a visit and tell John he owes me a brew!

Thanks for the recommendation Dan. Can I just ask, is the general surface fairly smooth, ie not a problem for tripping up small feet (or patio furniture come to think of it)?

personally i would say the milstone,you didnt mention your application but i have laid these in kitchens and conservatories without too much hassle
there will be slight variations,but kids have to learn to pick their feet up,if the kids are your main worry maybe just go for pressed concrete with a clay paver edging?
