Hi everyone. I hope you can help.

Im about to lay some slabs on my patio, which measures 21m2 onto an already slanted concrete sub-base. I've read the great site advice and used the calculator to give me total amount of grit sand and cement needed, but i dont trust myself in the calculations.

ive come out with 1.7 tonnes of grit sand and 167kgs of cement which would give me a bedding of 35-50mm. Is that correct?

Another question I have is that I have one step leading onto the patio. Would I need to make a wetter mix of sand/cement in order to get the facing slabs to stick onto the step?

sorry if this sounds like stupid questions, but any help would be great!

Thanks a lot!

Yes. That's 2 bulk bags of sharp and 9 bags cement, although I usually work off 5 bags cement to one bulk bag of sand.

The sharp/grit sand mix is no use for a slab on a riser. Use a building sand mortar for this.
