Hi guys,

Thanks for your help before ("moist mix in the rain") but now I have a new problem. I am trying to clear out the gaps between the slabs at the moment for grouting on Saturday morning. Just running a drill along the side and brushing out the debris to try to get to a depth of 25/30mm (for Rompox).

However, one section, which at the time of laying I noticed seemed a little light (the mortar mix that is, 6:1), appears to have come loose. So far two of the slabs are able to move and are not boound to anything. What should I do?

I have 2 ideas:
1. Will the Rompox Drain grout be strong enough to hold them in place, so I dont need to worry or
2. Should I lift them, sprinkle cement powder underneath, wet it and lay the slabs back on top?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I dont know about the Rompox side of things. Basically if the slab moves lift it, remove the pug used to lay it and relay. Short cuts just arent worth it in the long run. I would also check the whole questionable area at the same time and remedy it all. You wont be sorry.

Agree - get the groundwork right and all above it will be fine. Lift it and relay it after sorting out the bedding.
