I've a couple of unsightly red stains on our patio where birds have obviously dropped fruit. I removed the offending berry and hosed down with a hosepipe but the stone seems to have absorbed the red dye. Rubbing makes no difference either. I've yet to try pressure washing but dont think it will make any difference anyway.
The slabs do seem to absorb moisture a lot. When it rains you can almost literally see the water being absorbed via the slab and it drys very quickly. I'm assuming that the dye has been sucked in - is this normal and is there anything that can be done about it?
On a seperate note, given the porous nature of the slabs, would I suffer from picture framing if I mortar pointed if/when my geofix pointing fails?
