Might be a daft question guys, but I've around 200 2x2 concrete slabs which are well past their best. I plan to replace them over the Summer, but lifting & disposing is a wee bit daunting to me & I'm wondering if it would make sense to lay the new slabs on a sand base on top of the existing ones (similar to tiling on top of tiles). DPC won't be affected. Any thoughts & advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Alan

thats a NO then al :;):
if you dont mind your new stuff cracking after a bit and you will still be 150 below dpc then it might be a budget alternative for a while ,but no pro would want to touch it
if the existing are very sound with no cracks or movement you could lay the newer ones on a mortar bed ,but cavaet emptor
i wouldnt do it

if you are going to replace why not hire a concrete crusher and convert them to hardcore and rescreed?;)

Oh b*gger! Guess I'll need to lift & lay as I suspected then. Anyone want 250 dull, mottled, crappy concrete slabs, by any chance?

Yes please, drop them to our yard, ready for crushing! :)
