I need some help and advice, I am doing a project in my back garden of laying large flags/slabs to make a patio area below my back window, I am unsure were to begin really my partner has more of an idea I am a girl and trying to get stuck into this as it intrests me I found this website and think its fantastic help and information. But I am bit confused as to what bedding to use for these flags, will be layed on top of the dirt out the back which will be leveled and compacted with a compator fromed hired company (he will be doing this at weekend) his dad has done this work in past so he will be guiding us but from other sites it gives spotting as a bedding soloution but I noticed from your site its not very good and I wont be doing this, so do I use Grit sand or building sand as it is going directly on to compacted dirt?
