Shortly to lay 50 m2 of this and would like feedback from anyone who has laid this particular stone product.

I was wondering if this particular paving really does require a full mortar bed as the catalog states is essential for their natural stone (using building sand to boot)

Otherwise I would have chosen the Moist Mix approach as recommended on this site but feel a bit nervous about contradicting their advice and am looking for some assurance from the pros

Many thanks

Mike

Use a full mortar bed however moist you want it as long as it beds properly.
Grit/sharp sand in my opinion though as the site says.

Maybe I should clarify They recommend a wet mortar mix whereas I would prefer something drier

Is this OK for this stone

Thanks

There's no conflict between what this site says and the advice from the StoneFlairians. They say full mortar bed; pavingexpert says full mortar bed. The only slight difference is that I'd advocate a moist mix whereas they remain uncommitted, and they foolishly suggest crappy building sand in place of rougher, tougher and cheaper coarse/grit sand. That, perhaps, is why they just sell the paving and don't actually lay the stuff! :D
