Following advice from lagerlout I was very interested in the Rio range of curved slabs from Stonemarket, emailed them no reply re stockists, rang today very unhelpful, stockist in Dublin is a Tilestore! rang them got a price for approx 100M2 at €95 per meter this is for the complete drive in wave form, this is approx £64 sterling, I could bring in the load to Ireland for approx € 800 so this would bring down costs to €87 M2 or £58 M2 .
I can buy granite from China for €50 M2 in Dublin, is the Rio concept price a rip off, is there a stockist in Midlands or North of England I could buy at reasonable rate and import.
I would be interested in general comments on costs, all Ex VAT.

It seems they do not have any suppliers in the North either. I assume the Tilestore in Dublin just added 50-60% to the price as they do not do slabs but where not going to turn down the business. I have no problems with importing myself if I can get the right price in the UK.
The problem is my boss/wife was converted to the idea from the detail on the Stonemarket site, she is keen on the undulating effect of the curves! I like this effect myself but not only on paving.
A general question, why is the reconstituted stone so expensive compared to this granite from China @ €50 M2 is this such a bargin it would be stupid to use reconstituted stone? ( other than the curve pre made idea of Rio)
Am I correct in assuming that granite is much stronger and more durable than the concrete product?

Why is deco concrete more expensive than imported granite? Because labour and manufacturing costs in China are a fraction of those in Western Europe.
Granite can be stronger than concrete, but it depends on the granite and on the concrete. There's some crap granite out there. The same goes for durability, but, generally speaking, granite should be more durable.
