Hello,
I have been using the site for advise on the surfacing of a garden path I have under construction. I want to use what you describe as a 'self-binding gravel' - however non of my local builders merchants recognise the term. The work is taking place in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. When I describe the properties of the material (i.e. becomes more solid when compacted) all they can offer is Type 1.!!
The customer has their heart set on the Breedon Golden Amber but I can only get it from CED in essex at a cost of £150 per tonne. A wee bit pricey for what you describe as a cheap solution if you ask me.
Can you offer me any advice on alternatives that I should be able to obtain locally. The path is all ready to take the surface so I need it quickly. What about Type 1 Limestone?
All help gratefully received
Steve
