I've got a tarmac drive and not much money. There's nothing wrong with the drive except for two things. 1, It's too narrow, 2, It has several hollows where puddles colelct.

I havent much building exp, but I'm brave and ready to have a go myself.

I would like advice on how to the best widen the drive by about 3 feet and how to 'fill up' the hollows.

Re the widening - I can easily dig out the sides to 20 cm depth. Should I then push in some hardcore (what spec?) and then can I use the 25kg bagged tarmac? What thickness should I use?

Re the puddles. I guess this is mre difficult but any comments are welcome

Advice is appreciated

Now I'm annoyed. I've just answered this by email and then I find the same bloody question posted here, despite my request NOT to duplicate questions. You're barred!
