latest patio project was started yesterday, anyway client decided he didnt want to see red engineering bricks in his retaining wall (although this had been discussed) so we had to dig another footing and build a further skin in global stone's old rectory walling in modak, this was a nightmare as the *bricks* vary from 40 mm to 90mm,go figure
i rang them and they said some people like the random look
i thought yes but not when building steps ,where the risers need to be accurate
anyway managed to do that today in a south facing position <sizzle>
then as we have 10 tonne of grit sand coming at & in the AM we decided to horse the flags around (have to be carried due to poor access)
anyway while i was doing the step my pal got about 20 m around the back,i then mucked in and helped him with the last 20 odd
as we were lugging them round i thought to myself "these look awful grey???"
i went round and checked the pallets and they said "autumn blend " so i thought "that is what the client wanted, maybe they are grey"
needless to say got the dreaded phonecall at 9PM sayng the flags are the wrong colour
after looking in the catalogue i am inclined to agree
the flags are predominantly grey ,very little variation at all
so although the pallets delivered had "autumn blend " on them the flags inside look like "castle grey"
sadly we cut the pallets up as we finished so cannot repallet
has anyone come across this before?
cheers LLL :(

ive had pallets of Bradstones Autumn Green turn up with Russet Brown inside, but i think that was a mistake made at jewsons when they made the pallets up, im not sure. But sounds like your having a hell of a time :( some jobs feel like your pissing in the wind from the start

managed to sort it out today, looks like all the 560 by 840s seem rather grey in the autumn blend,i checked 9 patio packs and all were similar
onwards and upwards
Big T's design is working to a T,and the cut has been eliminated due to the extra course on the retaining wall
which will likely not fall down due to being 330 mm thick 5.5m long and only 450 high
LOL
