Hello
I am extending an existing patio just by about 1.5m sq to put a kids plastic playhouse on. I have used a base of just concreting sand, on top of a plastic sheet becsue it doesn't need to be too strong. My question is do I need to wet the area once the slabs are laid or will it just bake hard?
thanks

you shouldn't have plastic underneath as it will hold the water in. you need to have a 10 to 1 sand/cement mix, especially if there is no borders to stop sand migrating.

No, sorry I didn't put any plastic sheet down. I thought about it but didn't actually do it!

Concreting sand on its wown will not "bake hard": it's sand for making concrete, and not actually concrete itself. To make concrete, you need to add cement, coarse aggregate, and probably some water.
