Hi, just finished a patio, its turned out really great, really pleased, however there is an area around the side of the house (won't really see it much) which i was originally going to fill with stone, as otherwise it would mean cutting quite a few slabs into half.

However, i've now decided against putting stone down to fill the area and now would prefer to cut the slabs with an angle grinder.

But - i have a problem, the foundation to my conservatory is slightly proud and would mean either reducing the height of the foundation (as the foundation is around 8 inches wider each side than the conservatory wall) or reducing the thickness of the slab - is this possible?

Would you recommend grinding away at the foundation of my conservatory? ???

no get a kango demolition hammer and chisel away the top 2" of foundation very carefully
we come across this all the time

id use a lump hammer and a chisel
but when time is money...
are the elecky kangos you speak of any good any good

i have a makita demolition hammer,nice ergonomic thing cost Â£750 but eats through all but the thickest concrete,as with most things tool wise "you gets what you pays for" the Â£100 breakers are NOT worth a carrot

about what new i think
i cant justify one for the bit i would do with it
shame cos the arm don't get aft tired after 1/2 hour of bashing

you can hire them,we hired one for a couple of days to check it out first,but i would say i use the makita breaker,the stihl400 and the hilti t200 drill at least 3 times a week each if not more.
i can remember using feathers to split concrete <shudders>
