I would like to pave a large patio with travertine but the product I have in mind is quite "holey." Is the frost going to eat into this eventually and break up the surface? Has anyone seen travertine that has been down for a few years?

The location is exposed but not in a "frost pocket"

The travertine is frost resistant but those holes are a bugger for collecting crap, and the surface becomes quite slippery with even a light frost.

As I've said a million times before, I've never understood why the importers think Travertine is suitable for outdoor use in these damp and soggy islands. Leave it in Turkey, where it belongs!
