I'm on my winter break at the moment  from DIY that is

Main bits of the patio are complete... but!

Patio is roughly 4.5m x 4.5m and the join between patio and lawn is not finished. Patio slops away from house, and is approx 120mm below lawn level, patio to lawn is approx 500mm.

I will probably put a linear drain in to take water away when I wash patio and also to take rain away (hard to see where rain goes).

I'm looking for ideas on how to join the patio to the lawn. The linear drain will be the end of the patio. If necessary I'm prepared to slop the lawn down to the patio (perhaps starting 1m back to start the slope.

What are other peoples ideas?

I done something similar back in August i think it was, we put in a drain 75mm below the patio height, and had a small edger on the lawnside level with the patio height, sloped the turf down to the edger and put 60mm of decorative gravel over the drain, as the client felt it spoiled the look of the patio. Im sure it was 20mm quartz gravel we used.

My attempt in paint to demonstrate

Stuart, thanks for that. In your picture you could replace the linear drain with a simple gulley and cover it with 50mm pebbles.
