I bought some of these in antique Gold. 142 slabs in total of various sizes. When I bought them I did comment within earshot of one of the staff that when they were delivered they would be sepearted by spacers so they don't rub together. When we discussed delivery they even said it would be by lorry with one of those lifting arms.
Yesterday they were delivered. I wasn't home at the time but I was told they were stacked on top of each other (horizontally) on the lorry and they lifted them off one by one and stacked them in my driveway. Small slabs at the bottom of course.
As they are Riven when you stack them face to face you need a spacer so they don't rub against eachother and become damaged. 142 slabs and not a spacer in sight. Several of them are stacked face to back anyway. Out of 15 slabs I have checked 12 are in my opinion damaged with either scratched or chipped surfaces
I paid by credit card.
If they take them back and change them I want them delivered properly, with spacers, as I have to move them to the back of the house and stack them again.
I called them this morning and explained the problem. They told me the way they stacked them would be fine. I explained that they had obviously rubbed against eachother and scratched the surface leaving a dust and lots of marks. They look pants I was told that was normal and that once laid and cleaned they would be fine. I told them that out of 15 I looked at I wouldn't lay 12 of them.
I was then told they would speak to the boss and call me back. I didn't get a call back.
Am I being over critial? Where the slabs have rub together I've taken a dry brush to so I can dust it off and it looks marked to me.
Some of the slabs also have small concrete marks on them also, looking as if they are previous returns.
Advise would be appreciated.
