I am about to lay a patio using bradstone random carpet stones.
The total area is 20m2 in an L shape of about 3m wide.

They recommend laying enough foundation for you to complete in a day, about 3m2.

How to I finish the edge where the next days foundation is to join?

How I did mine, was to lay the sand/cement mix beyond the slab, but taper it down into the hardcore. The next session started with laying the fresh mix on top of the taper - and so on. Don't know if this is how the pro's do it, but it worked for me and the slabs have been fine.

Be a good idea to cover it too if rain is likely.
