A slate question - Indoor slate for outside path?

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

I’ve just had my kitchen floor tiled with slates and the contractor has left a small welsh mountain of slate behind (each with a chipped corner) I would like to use these slates in amongst York paving as a ‘cottage’ style path leading up to the front door. The slates are typically 10mm thick, do people think they would be suitable for use outside? Thanks. MG

Oooops,I should have read page 3 before posting :D ...looks like I’m not the first to want to put these slates outside.

One further thought, will slate and york stone look good together or should I just forget it?

You will have to try some and see I think.
