I've just bought a property which has an old, solid concrete patio which is around 75-100mm thick and 15m²

I was planning to lay a new patio directly on top just using a 10:1 patio mix as recommended on this site.

However, after taking some levels it looks like the concrete was laid very unevenly and there is a dip in the middle of up to 75mm. Would it be OK to just increase the depth of the bedding layer in these arrears to level the whole area, or do I need to do some extra prep work?

Also, for laying onto concrete, how wet or dry should the mix be?

Thanks

Can somebody just let me know if I'm heading in the right direction?

Thanks

if you stiffen the mix up where it is deeper you should be ok,personally i like at least 50mm of wet sharp/soft sand and cement mixture,
its better to tap it down with a rubber mallet than have to keep taking slabs up etc
hope this helps tony
