Has anyone experienced slabs, 900mm-600mm, having an uneven top surface. I.E. when the spirit level is placed on the top surface across the corners, it rocks up and down. In other words, the slab has been manufactured and is high in the middle.
24 slabs altogether, a whole batch of em.
The supplier said he's never seen this before. I was of the impression these were machine pressed and the accuracy is very high.

It depends what the surface finish is on the slab. If it's a stone reproduction, there will be variations and the edges may be profiled a fraction lower than the centres to avoid trip hazards.
If they're flat, they should be flat. If the top is convex, the manufacturer has some distorted moulds.

I assume these are BS 3x2's; in which case they are pressed, not 'moulded'.
Tapering from one end to the other isn't that unusual, but bowing is.
If the flag is physically 'bent' in the middle (i.e convex on one side but concave on the other) it may have been affected during the curing process. It is not that uncommon on thinner flags which have been cured horizontally. I've never come across it on a 3x2 which is, as you well know, a substantial unit and one which is cured vertically.
If it's physically thicker in the middle (convex on both sides, or flat on one or convex on the other), then I don't know. I just hope they're not mine!
Whatever the reason, it's clearly not acceptable. send 'em back.

Many thanks guys for your time and replies. They are 3x2 50 mm thick and flat, or supposed to be flat. The local supplier found another pallet of them the same. And they are definitely physically thicker in the middle, giving that bowed affect from corner to corner.
Whatever the reason, it's clearly not acceptable. send 'em back.

sounds like dodgy moulds to me .thats their quality controll out of the window...
