Just about to lay Sandstone Circle in Fossil Mint and a lot of the stones are heavily stained. I have not tried to clean them in any way, but have read on here that Jeyes fluid is recommended.
Shall i -
1 Clean them prior to laying.
2 Lay them then clean then grout(thus edges are clean prior to grouting)
3 Just lay them, grout, then clean at end of job once everything has sett.

Just gave them a light scrub with water/bit of bleach and pressure washed. Still a green tinge but came up a lot better.
Thinking of building a square fram slightly larger and using this for my level.
Only ordered 2 ring circle but got the squaring off kit at no extra cost by mistake which made more work as i was just going to go the easy way and surround circle with chippings. Has taken more levelling off. Heres a pic.

Got problems here i think. Have lifted what i layed as when i layed the second ring in 'staggered bond style ' it had huge 40-50mm gaps for grout which would look ridiculous. If you look at the first pic there are 15 segments in ring one and 16 segments ring 2. This is the only way which it can be layed but every circle i see has equal amounts to each ring ie 16 segments.
It was supplied by Pavestone and i cannot find a pic anywhere like it.
What shall i do, need help here again..
Or shall i just lay the second ring as first pic even though it did not look 'right'.....
I noticed the discrepancy in the original post but the gaps don't look too bad there.
My (Stonemarket) circles have 20 segments in each ring which allowed me to construct quarter circle steps. Having an odd number of segments removes the option of part circles entirely.
I wonder if what you got was made up from a load of spare parts the yard had lying around.
15x50 is 750mm. Is there room for another slab? Will the yard cut you one to size? Would it look OK if they did?
Thanks for reply Bob, i have just relayed it on grass and the only way to fit 16 segments on first ring is to but them up together with no gap whatsoever, they are virtually on top off each other. This also creates gaps at centre ringe from 5 to 50mm. I have played around all day swapping segments....
I understand these are hand cut and have irregularities but this cannot be right.
Also the crate it was delivered on was absolutely ancient/rottten/green and i was surprised it held together while lifting.
There is room for another slab but then i would have 15 in first and 16 in second and would not be able to stagger bond it which would look unsightly in my opinion.
