Our garden slopes a little towards our house. We had a conservatory built with a (non)soakaway.

Time came to build a patio which is to be roughly 4mx4m

First up was to sort out the drainage. When it rained we had a stream of water coming down the flowerbeds. Soakaway of course filled up and overflowed (yep, we live in a clay area). I have put in one gulley for the conservatory downpipe and also laid 110m pipes out to the garden with lots of holes to take the rainwater away.

Almost time to start laying the patio. Problem is I didn't think if it needs some type of fall!!

Does it? If so what fall? Shall I do this away from the house? Will have have to put in another gulley to take this water away?

Help please

Yes you need a fall of about 60mm (1 in 80 over 4.8m) across the patio. Slope it whichever way seems best but you will need a linear drain if you go towards the wall.

Don't forget to leave 150mm under the DPC.
