Stained paving stones

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

I have recently had a patio layed with light coloured slabs (just b and q, not natural stone!) and after a bbq they became stained with grease and red wine. I managed to get rid of the stain by scrubbing but I was wondering if anyone new of any protecting products which might prevent staining in the future? Thank you!
