I googled "riven flags" and got loads of hits (A lot seemed to be from some bloke called the "paving expert" -yeah right!!!-)

This was one of the hits but there were many more.

There's a knack to google. And it helps to have a fast connection.

Anything but Yorkstone? What is it you're actually looking for?

I already have a supplier of Yorkstone and the customer specifically required English quarried flagstones, hence my asking for anything but Yorkstone.

Pennant Stone is available in Gloucestershire and S.Wales. Caithness is Scottish, but used in many towns and cities in Northern England. There are some riven limestones on the south coast but they are quite rare and bloody expensive.

There's a reason why Yorkstone is so successful - it's plentiful; it's reliable; and it's sensibly priced.
