I have just been to quote a small patio for a lady, and she was really keen on what I showed here but thought the price was a bit too much. Since I always try to price jobs the best I can, there was no room for coming down in price.
But then I realised that if I laid the flags on the existing concrete base, I would save a day or more in labour.
My question is this: If I lay the flags over the existing concrete I will only be 75mm below the dpc. There is probably a fall of about 1 in 30 away from the house. Is this acceptable?
thanks

Technically, no, but if you get a waiver from the client, and they instruct you to ignore the very sensible 150mm below dpc rule, then you can do as you wish.

Alternatively, have a look at the workarounds shown on the main website.

Ok thanks for that. I'll have a chat with her, explain the crack about dpc's, and let her decide.
