Hey folks,
I have finished laying my patio, with advice obtained, in great part, from these pages, and it looks good, if I say so myself.
One thing I have noticed though, is that the slabs look much better when they are wet, it really seems to bring out the colour in them, when they are dry they are kind of a light buff color, when wet, with rain, they are a lovely rich colour, hard to descibe, but looks a lot better. So, what I'd like to do, is ask some advice about sealants, I've heard that you can paint on sealant, which would result in the slabs looking like they are wet, but in the dry!
I have used the sika pave-fix product between the slabs, and it worked great, a great advantage to me is that water is still able to drain through the pave-fix. I am prepared to paint each slab individually, so that I dont seal up the pave-fix pointing, but I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions for me, with regard to products. i.e should i look for a kind of glossy finish, a satin type finish or a matt finish? Ideally if anyone has some before and after pictures, or can point me to some web sites where I may find something like I'm looking for, that would be great!
