Hi,
I am about to lay a patio as a support base for a largeish shed (4m x 5m) which will initially house a load of our furniture while we renovate the main house, and then will eventually house a games room and hopefully a pool table.
We have plenty of concrete pathwork in the garden which we intend to break up and use as hardcore, and we were then planning on compacting this and laying ballast on top before laying 2ftx2ft 40mm pavers (also from elsewhere in the garden) over that in sand and cement.
Can anyone let me know whether this is a viable option and will withstand the weight over time? We dont have the facilities to be able to put down a complete concrete base and so I am hoping it will be the next best thing. Also I am unsure how thick the layers of each substance should be?
Can anyone advise or let me know of their past experience? It would be appreciated,
Cheers,
Cat
