I want to lay Marshalls Trafica Saxon slabs for a patio and ramp from my front garden to back (which is 2.5m lower). I've already built the retaining wall and patio/ramp (6" thick steel reinforced concrete sat on 6" thick type I hardcore). I need occasional heavy vehicle access.

Marshalls Trafica looks perfect, but the minimum order is 3000 off. I only need to slab 90m2. Does anyone know where I can buy a small order from?

Secondly, given the strong base, how thick a sand base would be required? Marshalls said 30mm - could I get away with a bit less?

Fianlly, the ramp angle is 12 degrees - anything to watch out for when laying slabs on this sort of slope?

Thanks in advance for your help

You can buy smaller orders from builders merchants, keyline, jewsons and the likes. I would stick to that amount of sand, I usually work from 1 - 2 inches (25 - 50mm) of sand. For the slope lay the slabs to a stringline, ie edge and height. For the traffic, just make sure you have got enough hardcore in and whacked nice and solid, heavier the traffic, the stronger the base has got to be :)
