Hi
Maybe stupidly I was talked into moulding my own slabs and so I bought several different sized ABS moulds. I wish to make each slab duel coloured similar to the "Wentworth type" sold in "Wicks Stores" i.e cast mainly in one colour but with areas randomly intruded/bled by the 2nd colour. Iv'e no idea how this effect is achieved but further I have no experience on how to cast slabs using these moulds anyway. The largest mould is 600mm square by 38 deep. I would very much welcome your advice.

Toss the moulds and go to a builders merchant. Unless you're planning on trying to make a living out of them, it's a whole lot less bother. And if you are, toss the moulds and buy PU replacements. There's so much natural stone flying around so damn cheap now, unless your concrete's either something special or cheap as manure, you stand little chance of selling much.

Someone on Ebay is flogging these moulds and convincing folk that there's nothing simpler than casting your own flags/slabs. When you consider that you can get a "Wentworth" type flag from Wickes/B&Q/Homebase etc for less than a quid, how can it possibly be economic to make your own? You can hardly buy the sand, gravel, dyes, mould oil and cement for that price!
