I have a problem with some Marshalls Heritage slabs. Some of them have flaked and developed discolouration & blooming.
We had 3 sizes of slab laid. 2 of them suffer from the problem one doesn't - even though they have common joints.
I have had repeated contact with Marshalls and the contractor - but have got no nearer a resolution, other than both agree that there is a problem.
Marshalls state it is a laying / pointing problem. The contractor says it is a manufacturing fault.
According to the contractor the slabs were "laid on sand/cement morat bed on compacted Type 1 base. The joints were wet pointed and raked. Other parts of your patio's and the other thousands of metres we have laid (including vast amounts of Heritage) have never suffered from this problem"
Can you please advise how I can take this forward ?
My opinion (for what it's worth) is that it must be a manufacturing problem because slabs of one size don't have the problem at all.
apologies for the long post..............
