OK, so I have a large floor area which has been concreted and powerfloated (not by me) and has ripples in it - not huge, but I have a variation of between 3-5mm at around 1m centres (if that makes any sense).

In the normal scheme of things that doesn't matter, but I have one area, about 8m x 5.5m which needs to be flat, as in billiard table.

I'm thinking self levelling compounds or grinding the surface back, or maybe laying a new pad over the top - a difference in level isn't a problem as long as I put a ramp in, but I could do with being able to run a forklift over it) but I'm at a bit of a loss.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

Don't know about magic, but yes I'm sure we've got something in the armoury.

If it's internal and dry you'll be able to use one of our flow applied screeds. Still hard and tough and it'll be flat and smooth - although it is very free flowing so it'll flow down slopes. So if you're on a slope, not the right product. Minimum depth 5mm.

If its sloping (or outside) then go for a thin bonded trowel applied polymer screed using Ronafix mix B (contains granite). This is very good for fork trucks and tougher than concrete. Minimum depth 15mm.

Not sure of your skills but you'll be needing to know the in's and out's, do's and dont's of:

mechanical prep,
priming,
mixing (either pumpable screed or trowel applied polymer granite screed),
laying to levels/smooth finish,
curing,
etc, etc.
